In looking at the cycle of creation and the evolution of life in terms of the numbers one through nine, the number six becomes a transition point. After going through six, life goes on to seven, eight, and nine, before going back to one. Everything, in its naturally ordained time, goes through deep renewal, a cosmic hibernation. Likewise, death is not really death. Once freed from the confines of the physical body, the soul evolves and assumes form in a higher dimension. Just as everything began with the One and will ultimately return to the One, the soul can be said to have completed its journey once it returns to where it came from.
The number six is also crucial in the human Chakra system. It refers not only to the 6th Chakra of our body, but also to the ” A (Yook Saeng)” in the Heavenly Code, signifying “Birth of the Soul from the place of the 6th Chakra.” If the 1st Chakra is the gate through which the body is born, then the 6th Chakra is the gate through which the soul is born. Once you have awakened to the birth of your soul, you are no longer fettered to the body, but can develop the “sight” to see life as an eternal force that exists in itself, of itself, and by itself.

The goal of strengthening the body should go hand in hand with the goal of strengthening the brain. Sitting behind a desk studying a book is a great way to gather piles of facts and figures, but it will do little to create new and stronger connections in the brain. Rather, this happens through overcoming physical challenges and developing new skills.
Make physical exercise a normal and natural part of your child’s daily routine. Children who spend the day watching TV or sitting in front of a computer monitor are being deprived of the chance to develop brain connections that will be much harder to develop later in life. Also, the sense of confidence and accomplishment that comes with physical strengthening will be invaluable to them in many areas of life.
More Ilchi Lee says the following exercises should be practiced daily during the twelve-week lesson plan. Record the child’s progress in a journal or notebook, and try to add more time or repetitions every day, creating goals that are realistic for your child’s physical condition.

As you look at the content of this lesson, you may wonder, “Where are the brain exercises?” You may have expected brainteasers and games to challenge your child’s mind. Yet all of the activities in this lesson are simple physical exercises, not unlike what you would find in a traditional gym class. In actuality, it stimulates the brain because all movement requires intricate coordination between the body and the brain, which helps to create new brain connections. Also, the increased blood flow to the brain that results helps to nourish and sustain the overall health of the brain.
Ilchi lee writes the body is essentially the brain’s connection to the outside world. A person’s brain can have little effect on the surrounding environment if the rest of the body lacks strength and stamina. And the condition of the body drastically affects the functioning of the brain. A sluggish, tired body usually equates with a sluggish, tired brain. A strong, vibrant body generally houses a strong, vibrant brain.
The first is the physical ability to perceive subtle changes in the body, our body has the ability to monitor its health and return it to a healthy state. This is our body’s healing capacity. Ilchi Lee tells that if our body is in need of water, we feel thirsty and look for water. If we are cold, our body shakes to produce heat. If we are hot, our body sweats to cool off. Our immune system takes care of foreign bodies that enter. Even recovering from a cold or the way our skin heals after a cut is a result of this capacity.
One of the most obvious signs that our physical sense has developed is that our body’s balance and power increase. We have reserves that compensate when we are challenged by some kind of stress, and we have vitality. Our body desires that state. When our physical sense develops, our bodies know that state of balance and seek to maintain it. Mark was able to automatically quit smoking because his physical sense was activated. The meridian exercises, abdominal breathing, meditation, and mox-ibustion introduced in Chapters 4 and 5 are practical techniques that will strengthen this kind of physical sense.
The second way we can experience HSP is through an energy sense that allows us to perceive the flow of energy that permeates the world. Life itself is energy, and energy creates the flow of life that cannot be contained. Energy is ceaselessly in motion, coming together and spreading out and making up all life forms. You, I and all phenomena are ultimately manifestations of energy.
Ilchi Lee tells that about four months after I started, I got up in the morning and just like any other day I went into the bathroom and lit up a cigarette. But as soon as I took a drag, I felt nauseated. Thinking it strange, I took another drag and felt so sick that I had to put out the cigarette. My body automatically rejected the cigarette.
It is hard to explain how this change happened. It feels like I suddenly have a very sensitive sensor in my body and mind. This sensor helps me make better choices every moment of my life.
Although there are differences in degree, everyone at some point in their lives has a moment of awakening like Mark. An inherent sense that we have in our bodies turns on. Through these moments, we are able to have a deeper human experience and expand our understanding about the world. I call this internal sensor that Mark talked about a Heightened Sense ot Perception (HSP).
Perception is the process of knowing or being aware of inforrmation through the senses. Through perceptions awareness, discrimination and integration of impressions, conditions, and relationships about objects, images, and feelings are possible. When we have HSP, we have a heightened sensitivity, alertness, and ability to perceive at an expanded level aspects of life that would otherwise not be accessible. There are many ways that we can experience HSP.
