One of the most inspirational stories in recent memory is that of hiker Aron Ralston, the man who found himself trapped underneath a rock in a secluded part of Utah. Using sheer willpower, Ralston was able to amputate his own arm and limp to safety.
It's no surprise that such an epic tale would quickly be made into a Hollywood movie, and director Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire) was tapped to bring Ralston's story to the big screen in "127 Hours." With actor James Franco in the lead role, the film garnered a high amount of praise, including six Academy Award nominations.
Ralston's unthinkable determination and willpower is echoed by Ilchi Lee's personal philosophy. The wise teacher is known to have said: "In moments of doubt, make fists and shout to yourself three times, 'I can do anything!'" Ralston certainly did that by achieving what many people would consider impossible.
Beyond that, his thirst for life continues to this day. The film closes with shots of Ralston after the accident – including pictures of him continuing to engage in mountaineering and rock climbing, undeterred by the events that made him famous.
