The SUN is also a Spiritual Union of Nations, an alliance of nations that acknowledge that we are all Earth-Humans despite our differences. The governments of these nations will understand that they cannot continue to make policies that seek to benefit their own citizens at the expense of world citizens. The governments of these nations will officially acknowledge that any actions taken by one nation could affect any other nation. These governments will write into their constitutions the solemn promise that they will take into account the interests of the Earth and the whole of humanity before making policy decisions.
Prof Ilchi Lee said ultimately, the SUN is the Spiritual United Nations, a complimentary organization to the international and mainly political existing United Nations. SUN will support the UN’s original goal of the eradication of the disease of war and become active in the promotion of cultural and non-political activities designed to bring people together.
The SUN is this and more. It is the sun to brighten and warm the new spiritual civilization. SUN is not just the birth of another organization, for civilization will not change just because we register a new organization, appoint board members, and adopt new by-laws. Humans have to change in a fundamental way, or nothing will happen. Our living values must change, our attitude toward life must change, and the basic nature of our desires and ambition must change, from outer to inner, from external to internal, and from winning to perfecting. When the SUN becomes reality, it will be representative of the new value system, new character, and new way of life of the Earth-Human.
If only one percent of the Earth’s population chooses to live for the future, and chooses to undergo a personal shift, then Earth’s destiny will change. Most studies indicate that Earth’s population will reach ten billion in the near future. We need only one hundred million Earth-Humans to pioneer a shift in civilization. If we combine our strength and focus our power of enlightened vision on the SUN, we will effect a true change and kick the door to the future wide open. This is what I envision for next ten years with Peaceology, Brain Respiration and the Healing Society Movement… and with one hundred million partners in peace.
Fourth Step World-renowned scholars, thinkers and social activists gathered together in Seoul, Korea in June of 2001 to explore the concrete influence that spirituality can have on political, economic and cultural makeup. Ilchi Lee, Xeale Donald Walsch, Seymour Topping, Maurice Strong, Jean Houston and Al Gore were among the distinguished guests.
The primary result of the conference was adoption of an historic Declaration of Humanity, a brief document that states the intention of Earth-Humans to establish a peaceful world community. The declaration was officially adopted by distinguished guests, conference participants, and more than twelve thousand other enthusiastic Earth-Humans. To date, more than one hundred thousand people have signed this declaration.
Declare that I am a spiritual being, an essential and eternal part of the Soul of Humanity, one and indivisible. 2.1 declare that I am a human being, whose rights and security ultimately depend on assuring the human rights of all people of Earth. 3.1 declare that I am a child of the earth, with the will and awareness to work for goals that benefit the entire community of earth on Earth. 4.1 declare that I am healer, with the power and purpose to heal the many forms of divisions and conflicts that exist on Earth. 5.1 declare that I am a protector, with the knowledge and responsibility to help Earth recover her natural harmony and beauty. 6.1 declare that I am an activist in service to the world, with the commitment and the ability to make a positive difference in my society.
Corporations and other large organizations spend a lot of time and money developing the proper identity for their business. These things do a lot to establish how they relate to the world around them. Think about how much more effectively the army can recruit with a slogan like “Be all you can be.” And a pair of athletic shoes are so much more attractive with the familiar swoosh and the phrase “Just do it” emblazoned on the box.
Why don’t you do the same for yourself? Come up with a short statement, a motto, that sums up your intentions for your life. Also, prepare a mission statement, a paragraph describing your personal vision for the remainder of your life. Perhaps you have pursued and achieved many missions in your life up to this point. Now it is your chance to make one as you really want, one that really will bring you satisfaction and fulfillment.
21-DAY MIRACLE
Good habits are what make your dreams come true. That may seem like an exaggeration, but it is really true. Anything you do will require discipline and effort. If you set your goals high, it can seem overwhelming. That is why you should start with smaller, achievable goals. Eventually they will add up, like bricks building a house.
Identify one habit in your life that you think causes some sort of difficulty for you. Ideally, this should be a purely behavioral issue, rather than one with a chemical component, such as smoking or drinking. Give yourself the challenge of stopping the behavior for 21 days. At the end of 21 days, your dependence on that behavior will have faded along with the neural connections that support it.
Visit www.ilchi.com and you will find special support for your 21-day process, including special 21-day tracking features and details about setting a goal. This online program, 21-Day Miracle, was created to help you build the habits you need to make the life of your dreams. You just need to choose one goal and three rules to follower for 21 days.
As we get older, it is natural to think occasionally about our own mortality. Rather than letting this be a source of sadness, let it be a source of motivation. If you are in the last decades of your life, it means that there is no more time to waste. You must grow Into the person you want to be now. With this attitude, the passage of time can become a great blessing to you.
To help yourself with this, think ahead to how you want to be remembered. Write a eulogy for yourself as you would want it to be delivered at your funeral. This may seem a bit morbid, but it is a helpful exercise for anyone of any age. Take some time to think about what traits you want people to associate with you. Generosity? Courage? Love? Use this exercise to help set your mind toward embodying these traits in your life.
DECLARE YOUR CHARACTER
Through the years, you may have developed some character traits that you would like to change. Or perhaps you have a difficult time remaining positive about yourself or the world around vou. Fortunately, all of these things are simply habits of the brain that can be changed with will and persistence.
To begin changing your mindset, create a simple declarative sentence that will keep your mind focused on developing a positive trait. In other words, create a statement that helps you be the kind of person you w^ant to be. This statement should be a declaration of character, a simple “I am” statement. For example, you could say, “I am generous,” or, “I am beautiful.” Choose whatever trait that vou most desire within yourself. Write the declaration on several Post-it notes and put them within easy view—on your computer monitor, your refrigerator, your dashboard—anywhere that you will see it often.
Set aside a specific time for meditation. Sit comfortably and breathe in and out deeply 3 times. IP Lift your hands to chest level and begin Feeling Energy exercise (page 68). Once you feel the surrounding energy field and quiet your thoughts and emotions, lower your hands to your knees.
Imagine that a stream of energy is entering the top of your head and shooting out from between your eyebrows. Imagine that it is projecting out like a film on a screen in front of you. Visualize yourself being healthy, happy, and peaceful. Genuinely feel these qualities with your entire being. Breathe in and out 3 times and then open your eyes.
Developing Your True Identity
The following exercises will help you examine your current identity, as wrell as get a better idea of who you would really like to be.
FROM ANOTHER PERSPECTIVE
It can be hard to stand back and really see ourselves as we are. We tend to filter our conception of self through many layers of judgment and wishful thinking. Use this exercise to see yourself from an objective point of view. Describe yourself from the perspective of some non-human thing, such as your couch or your dog. How do you appear from this perspective? Be as honest and complete as possible, referencing your character, appearance, and behavior. Try this from several different perspectives.
