The birth of Brain wave vibration

Ilchi Lee has been teaching Brain Wave Vibration for years. Previously, he called it Jin-dong, which literally means “vibration exercise.” The purpose of this training was to open the energy system of the body for improved health. In those days, the focus was on the flow of energy through the body in the more conventional sense of traditional Asian medicine. Through the years, however, Ilchi Lee has come to realize the role of the brain in this process. Thus, the name for this training is now Noe-pa-jin-dong, the word noe-pa meaning “brain wave.” The brain orchestrates our bodily functions, and it is through the brain that we make the choices that determine the quality of our life experience. As Lee’s understanding has increased, Ilchi has come to see that the brain is the key to mental and physical health.

Ilchi Lee suggests that if you have had difficulty making your reality follow the wishes of your mind, it is because you have not taken the time to change the tool with which you can change your reality. In other words, you have not taken steps to train your brain.

On the surface, it is easy to convince yourself that your thinking is positive, but in reality you may have many layers of negative thought that can undermine even the most sincere effort for positive change. Brain Wave Vibration offers a way to break through the layers of self-negating thought patterns so you can shake them off and begin again. For this purpose, we will look directly at the bodily organ that produces thought–the brain–and we will attempt to tap into its full ability through a remarkably simple and effective technique.

In D H Yoga Brain Wave Vibration training helps reawaken your natural healing abilities by activating your brain stem. Your brain stem is critical to your health because it is the area of your brain that controls breathing, heart rate, stress response, and all the many other automatic functions of the body.

In a way, this training helps you integrate your neocortex with your brain stem. If you are under continual stress, it is likely that your brain stem cannot create equilibrium in your body. Your neocortex, which is the thinking part of your brain, is continually sending messages to your brain stem that keep you in a fight-or-flight state. For example, your thinking mind may continually generate messages like “You are not keeping up with the competition” or “You are not being a responsible parent.” Hearing the alarm generated by your brain, your sympathetic nervous system puts your body into the fight-or-flight state, which increases your heart rate, brings tension to your muscles, and generates a host of other bodily effects.

The parasympathetic nervous system is also there, waiting to return the body to the rest-and-digest state, but if you cannot learn to quiet the messages of alarm from the neocortex, you will be left in an almost constant state of stress. Eventually, the stress response creates great wear and tear on the body, and many stress-related problems come about precisely because the brain stem is never given the chance to create balance in the body.

What is a Power Brain

We can become the proud owners of our very own “Power Brain.” What is a Power Brain? A Power Brain is a creative, peaceful, and productive brain. A person with a Power Brain has the ability to see situations clearly and to use insight and intuition in creating a better individual life as well as a more harmonious world for others.

It is a process of creating real changes in your brain that will ultimately lead you to mastery of your brain. Accordingly, I have spent many years designing a simple, yet effective system for the purpose of leading many people to the same enlightening experience that I have had, simply by using their God-given brains. The result is Brain Respiration. Brain Respiration is both a brain-centered philosophy (brain philosophy) of life and a method to develop our brain’s capabilities. Based on this brain philosophy, Brain Respiration helps us to expand our self-awareness and become masters of our brain, using it creatively, peacefully, and productively.

What is the Purpose of Brain Respiration

The ultimate is the establishment of peace throughout the world. In H YogaThrough Brain Respiration, people have awakened their souls to realize that there is no greater cause than the pursuit of peace in this world. They understand that material goals can distract the soul from its instinctive pursuit of peace. The peace I refer to is not individual peace, but peace for the community, society, nations, and the world. I have written a book entitled Peaceology that is a philosophy of peace. In this book, I have examined the importance of the individual spiritual journey and the evolution of the collective human consciousness in creating equitable and lasting peace. I have created Brain Respiration as an educational training system to facilitate the experience of the reality of peace within.

Since publication of the first edition of Brain Respiration in 1997, it has been the focus of many academic studies and papers. Brain Respiration has been found to increase concentration levels, decrease stress-related hormone levels, and develop extra-sensory.

Perceptual abilities in children. Recently, a doctoral candidate received a Ph.D. from the prestigious Seoul National University based on her research on the effects of Brain Respiration on children’s education. In the United States many elementary and secondary schools have incorporated Brain Respiration into their curriculum. Brain Respiration is currently being researched and its results confirmed by scientific studies carried out under the auspices of the Korean Brain Science Institute, a Korean government-licensed scientific research institution established in 1990. This edition of Brain Respiration contains the results of the past five years of research.

It is my hope that the philosophy of Peaceology and the methods outlined in Brain Respiration will be communicated to as many people as possible, not only to enhance their individual lives but to establish a basis for a harmonious civilization. I hope that readers of this book will gain the knowledge and courage needed to become masters of their own creative, peaceful, and productive brains. And thus become creators of a healthy, peaceful and bright future for all of humanity.

Ilchi Lee originated the Brain Education system, which seeks to maximize human potential through a variety of training methods. As president of the Korean Institute of Brain Science and chairman of the International Brain Education Association, Lee has dedicated himself to the nurture and development of the human brain. He is the author of twenty-nine books, most of which focus on the important role of the brain in the creation of a better world for ourselves and our children.

Human beings are unique among the inhabitants of Earth because we are simultaneously Earth-bound and divine. You have probably noticed how vastly human behavior can differ, ranging from the person who gives all in service of others to the one who violently uses and abuses other people. This is because we are simultaneously Earth’s people and heaven’s people. Our upright stature—with our head in the sky and our feet on the ground—is a symbolic reminder of this.

The true self is the part of you that knows there is more to life than just the surface level of this world. It is the part of you that urges you to choose according to your highest self. However, through life we develop more and more attachment to this physical world, and the voice of the true self becomes muffled. Fortunately, we have been given the struggles and obstacles of life to help us remember who we are.

No one likes problems. Nevertheless, all of your problems are a blessing. They all exist to help you realize your true self.

When facing any problem, remember that the problem itself is just an illusion that stems from the false self created by the ego. Most people make the critical error of focusing on the problem itself, which ironically just brings more of the same into being. What really matters is not why or how the problem is happening but your relationship to the problem. One thing is definitely true—you will never be able to hate your problem out of existence. What really matters is your attitude about it. To upgrade your attitude, you must first consider how your brain is operating in relationship to the problem.

Ilchi Lee on meridian exercise

From Meridian Exercise by Ilchi Lee

The meridian system of the body is a series of channels or pathways running from the feet to the head and from the head to the hands, transporting Ki energy. Meridians can be likened to rivers of the body. The meridian system is responsible for the distribution of Ki throughout its intricate network, nourishing and influencing body, mind, and spirit. Acupressure points, which are distributed along meridians, are portals through which energy enters and exits the body.
